Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (http://www.cfda.gov/) - a government-wide compendium of federal programs, projects, services, and activities which provide assistance or benefits to the American public. It contains financial and non-financial assistance programs administered by departments and establishments of the Federal government.

Consumer Information Catalog (http://www.pueblo.gsa.gov/ )hundreds of consumer publications that you can read or order   on-line.

Country Studies -- Area Handbook series (http://lcweb2.loc.gov/frd/cs/c shome.html) - the original intent of the Series' sponsor was to focus primarily on lesser known areas of the world or regions in which U.S. forces might be deployed, the series is not all-inclusive. At present, 101 countries and regions are covered. Notable omissions include Canada, France, the United Kingdom, and other Western nations, as well as a number of African nations. The date of information for each country appears on the title page of each country and at the end of each section of text.

National Center for Educational Statistics  (http://nces.ed. gov) -is the primary federal entity for collecting and analyzing data that are that are related to education in the United States and other nations.

National Atlas of the United States of America (http://nationalatlas.gov/index.html ) - This Atlas updates a large bound collection of paper maps that was published in 1970. Like its predecessor, this edition promotes greater national geographic awareness. It delivers easy to use, map-like views of America's natural and socio-cultural landscapes. Unlike the previous Atlas, this version is largely digital.

Occupational Outlook Handbook (http://www.bls.gov/oco/ ) - describes what workers do on the job, working conditions, the training and education needed, earnings, and expected job prospects in a wide range of occupations.

The Plum Book (http://www.gpoaccess.gov/plumbook/index.html ) - Every four years, just after the Presidential election, the "United States Government Policy and Supporting Positions," commonly known as the Plum Book, is published. This publication contains data (as of September 1, 1996) on over 8,000 Federal civil service leadership and support positions in the legislative and executive branches of the Federal Government that may be subject to noncompetitive appointment; e.g., positions such as agency heads and their immediate subordinates, policy executives and advisors, and aides who report to these officials.

Sourcebook of Criminal Justice Statistics (http://www.albany.edu/sourcebook/ ) - brings together data from more than 100 sources about all aspects of criminal justice in the United States, which are presented in over 600 tables.

Statistical Abstract of the United States (http://www.census.gov/statab/www/ ) - As the National Data Book it contains a collection of statistics on social and economic conditions in the United States. You can read the book online in PDF format.

U.S Government Manual (http://www.gpoaccess.gov/gmanual/index.html ) - provides information on the agencies of the executive, legislative, and judicial branches; quasi-official agencies, boards, commissions, and committees; and international organizations in which the United States participates.

World Factbook (https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/index.html) - Provides brief information on the geography, people, government, economy, communications, and defense of countries and regions around the world. Contains information on international organizations.
