SERVICE LEARNING CLUB
UPDATEThe Service Learning Club (SCL) has met twice this semester. We have tried to get involved in projects that better the lives of various groups, from children to the elderly, from people with disabilities to the homeless. We have made some changes as service opportunities have warranted:
- We no longer sponsor volunteer events with Animal Friends but have begun volunteering with the Humane Society. Fourteen students went through training on Sept. 27. 2008
- We are no longer doing Wednesday evening street outreach with Operation Save-a-Life. We are still doing it on every other Tuesday evening.
- We are now working with children, ages pre-school to middle school, at the Providence Family Support Center every other Wednesday. (see above for our next event)
